5 Months Old/Evie's 22nd Week

Evie celebrated her 5th month birthday by hanging out with her Daddy during the day and then coming with us to vote.  I remember my Mom taking me with her to vote when I was a kid, and I always thought it was the neatest experience, especially when I was old enough that she would let me push the buttons.  I don't think Evie was that impressed, but she did enjoy seeing new sights.  We voted at the local elementary school, which Evie would go to if we happen to still be here by the time she's ready for kindergarten and if we don't decide to send her somewhere else.  Considering they misspelled turkeys (We're proud of our turkey's) on one of their wall decorations showing all the kids' names, I don't know that we'll be sending her there...

On our way home from voting, Evie fell asleep, but then she joined us in watching the election coverage for the rest of the night.  And when I say watching, I mean that she was playing in her exersaucer or making faces back at her Daddy while we were glued to the TV and I was sending updates via text to my brother who, along with my parents and the rest of his immediate family, is in Australia for the next two weeks.  It was quite an exciting evening.

The rest of Evie's week has gone relatively well.  She is still experiencing some stomach problems (must have gotten that from me...) so she's going back to the pediatrician today to hopefully get some other medication that will help.  But otherwise, she's had a fun week of playing with her teether, Sophie the giraffe, trying two new foods: sweet potato and rice cereal, and, the most exciting one: rolling over!

On Friday, Nov 2nd, Evie spent the day with Aunt Syd as usual, and through Syd's persistence Evie made it from back to tummy, though she wasn't happy about it, as evidenced below:

Quite the achievement.
