5th Grade!

I don't know how, but my baby is now a fifth grader!  Over the weekend, Evie and I went to get manicures and pedicures, a tradition we started before she went to first grade that we've tried to do every school year (except we got interrupted by COVID)

We went to lunch afterwardsd

This morning, Evie was supposed to report about an hour before school started because she is on the safety patrol.  She got a new assignment this year: opening car doors for the drop off line.  She loved it and told me that there were some wrinkles to work out because quite a few cars were parked where they weren't supposed to be so she got to tell those parents not to park there again.  Hopefully the power won't go to her head.

She has three teachers this year, but today they only went to their homeroom teacher's class.  They'll start changing classes tomorrow.  She starts her day with her E/LA teacher, a guy who was in the army.  She's hoping this will mean that the boys who usually cut up in class will be put in their place and she won't be distracted by their clowning.

First day of first grade vs. first day of fifth grade

I can't believe the difference between last year and this year!  Look at how much the shape of her face has changed!
