Break In #2

So... the first time our house was broken into, Annalisa was visiting.  Unfortunately, here at the 2nd time our house was broken into, Annalisa was visiting.  What was supposed to be a fun time with Annalisa and Mary staying with us over Thanksgiving has been hijacked by the fact that on Monday night, after a perfectly lovely dinner at Kathy's house, we discovered that someone had broken our bathroom window, climbed into the house, rifled through all our bedrooms, took (mostly Annalisa's) stuff, and left out the back door.  We think this was a crime of opportunity, unlike last time where we're sure it was the new maid service.  This time, our neighbor's power had been knocked out because of a storm, so the usual flood lights weren't on and it was raining so it would have been harder to see someone sneaking around the fence.  They think it was a kid based on the size of the shoe print and how small he would have to be to fit through the window.

Of course, Evie is terribly disturbed and upset.  Last time, they didn't even go into her room.  This time, they went through even her underwear draw which is just disgusting.  She's having a harder time because her things were moved and poked through, so she feels nervous.  The night that it happened, Granna and Grannadaddy came to whisk her away to their house to spend the night.  We slept on a pallet in the living room last night and I suspect it will be quite a while before she's ready to sleep by herself again.

Prior to all of that happening, we'd been having a perfectly lovely time.  Sharing some pictures from last Thursday when we had snack on the deck because it was nice, and Evie was teasing the dogs a bit

Sunday, Evie went with Desmond to Incredible Pizza to celebrate his birthday.  Those two are so stinkin' cute!

After Incredible Pizza, they went to the park.

Hard to believe this is seven years since their first birthday together!
