Annalisa and North Carolina

First, a picture of Evie snuggling Edison.

This weekend, Seth, Evie, and I left on Friday to fly to North Carolina to spend Annalisa's birthday with her.  Annalisa usually comes to us for her birthday, but since Matt is still living with us, we didn't have another spare bed for her, and we love visiting her and Mary and their dogs anyway so it was a good excuse to kick the year off right with a short trip.

Snacking before boarding the plane to Charlotte

We had about an hour layover in Charlotte before boarding a tiny plane to go from Charlotte to Greensboro.  I'm not sure Evie had ever boarded a plane by jetbridge before.

We've had a great time playing with Wasabi and Parker, going on long walks around their neighborhood which has a trail that borders a lake, and enjoying each other's company.

It's really wonderful to watch Annalisa and Evie's relationship grow as Evie herself grows.  Evie had so much she wanted to tell Annalisa when we got here, about school and her friends, and the less nice kids in her class.  I love that they are close, even though they don't get to see each other as much as we all would like.

Sadly, Seth and Evie had to go back Sunday to be ready for school and work.  I am doing something indulgent and staying a whole week!  I miss seeing my kiddo and husband, but sometimes it's nice to get a break from being wife and mother too.
