Well, here we are, 169 days since the last day Evie was in school, and finally we have reached the last week before school starts. Therefore, I have had what you might call in-service meetings in preparation for the return of school, and Evie has had a week off of doing much since, starting next week, she'll be "in school" from our house from 8 am - 3 pm. Evie had ballet this week, and we also got to go over to Granna and Grannadaddy's house for a change of scenery, since they were out of town. She got to play with these old Fisher Price toys that have been around since my brother and I were kids.
We had a meet-the-teacher night on Thursday which we attended virtually. She will have two teachers this year, one for E/LA and one for Math, Science and Social Studies. She'll also have teachers for art, music, PE, etc., but this is the first year she won't have the same teacher for all core subjects. She already knows her Math/Sci/SS teacher, Ms. Davis, because she was a grad student teacher when Evie was in Montessori at 4 years old. I saw Ms. Davis at the supply pick up and she was so excited to have Evie in her class.
Meeting the teacher
Today, we broke in a new board game based on Betrayal at House on the Hill which is sort of a mystery/discovery game, but too creepy for Evie. This version is Scooby Doo and it's perfect for her. She loves Scoob.
