Matt has officially moved out of our house now and while we are really sad not to be able to see him every day, Evie is enjoying having her bed back. She moved back into her room and she rediscovered all kinds of toys, books, and stuffies she had forgotten she had. I snapped a picture of her snuggling with Myth, one of her smaller wolves, while wearing a sleep mask she'd forgotten about.
Fortunately this week there were no new injuries or sprains. Evie was still wearing the boot until Tuesday, but she is definitely feeling nearly fully healed.
The big excitement this weekend was that we scheduled a time for Desmond to redeem the birthday present we'd planned for him. We got him a gift to an escape room. With both Evie and Desmond being into slightly spooky stuff, we opted for the one themed "Shadow Manor" which had some fun theme and cool puzzles to solve. Desmond's mom also came and she had just as much fun as the rest of us; in fact, she kept saying, "I can't believe this is someone's job! How cool would it be to get to design these rooms!"
I forgot to mention that before the escape room we met at a restaurant, which Savi said was their first time eating out at a restaurant since COVID. And then afterwards, we went out for ice cream. The kids are kind of over having their pictures taken, but they indulged me for this one.
The very next day, my Timehop app popped up with the memory that we took them to the JCC Summer Camp preview exactly 6 years earlier. Hard to believe that was only six years ago, but also hard to believe they're still sweet on each other after six years!
Sunday, after church, we went out to eat with the Smiths. Evie enjoys getting to play big sister to Lydia, and in this instance, she taught her how to chew her first piece of gum.
