Harp Fairy and Sheep

Beau is getting bigger and bigger and Evie is loving having him.

It's hard to believe that this is Evie's 5th year to perform in The Nutcracker.  Two years running, she was a mouse, and then a party girl.  Last year she was an angel.  This year, as an Upper Level 2 student, she is a harp fairy and a sheep.  The harp fairies perform with the angels at the top of Act II to introduce The Kingdom of Sweets, and they are set apart by, obviously, having a harp, but also more stage time.  The sheep are part of the Bo-Peep skit that is done to the "Dance of the Reeds" music and, oh my goodness are they cute at that.  Evie had costume fittings this weekend for both of those roles.

She and another girl in her class, while looking at the girls who are about kindergarten age dressed up as reindeer, remarked, "Oh, look at the little girls!  They're so cute!"  I just smiled and thought how funny to hear that from a 9 year old, and yet how true that she is not a little girl anymore.
