Palm Sunday

We haven't been able to go to church in a few weeks and this past Sunday was Palm Sunday.  Normally on Palm Sunday, the children lead the processional, waving palm branches, and it's one of my favorite church events.  We weren't able to do that this year, with the restrictions on gatherings due to coronavirus, so we got a palm branch and let Evie do her own procession in the backyard.

We brought down the Easter things from the attic this past week too and Evie has been setting out baskets and using the plastic eggs to make scavenger hunts for us.  She writes a clue for each egg that leads you to the next one's location.  It's quite clever.

We've also been doing a few puzzles for entertainment lately.  Evie's a good helper.

She has also helped a lot with taking care of the dogs.  Our poodle is getting so shaggy, and Evie brushes her daily now.

We went to a local mega-church that put out a big Easter Egg hunt that you could do from your car.  They developed an app that you could read along with the Bible and answer trivia questions, so it was a nice way to spend some time.

A language funny to share (these are getting rarer!): we were watching the news and there was an ASL interpreter standing on stage near a politician and Evie said, "Why do they have to have someone there doing 'silent language'?"  I love when she gets close to the right word/term but not quite right.
