Wrapping Up

It's May, and that means we are wrapping up things for school and Evie's extracurricular activities.  This Saturday, Evie had her performance for her theatre classes.  She did well in both, though I feel bad that we hadn't rehearsed her lines for her acting class.  Apparently the teacher passed out a script after class, but since we have another class immediately after that one, I didn't get the script, so we really only had one day to rehearse.  She did well regardless, and she enjoyed the classes overall.  Videos below

Oh the Places You'll Go

So she's done with theatre until fall classes start.  Tonight she also had her gymnastics recital and is done with that until fall too.  She did very well in all her gym routines and I'm really excited to see how well she does with it next year too.

Warm Up

Receiving her medal

For her most devoted fans, I have included video of the entire recital (taken for Daddy's benefit since he wasn't able to attend) at the bottom of this post.

We got to see lots of "Baby Nathan" this week.  On Friday evening, we met up with Cristal and Nathaniel for a mall date.  They enjoyed eating Chick-fil-a together and romping around the Disney store.

On Sunday, they were the only two young kids to attend our church's lunch retreat at a local campground.  They had a blast playing t-ball, bubbles, hiking, and the old playground equipment.  It was fun for Cristal and me to watch these two kids playing on the same stomping grounds we played in during Family Camp retreats.

After leaving the campground, we also went to eat dinner together.  You can see in this picture from the restaurant how puffy Evie's eyes were.  She is still battling allergies something fierce.

Language funny from this week:
"We believe Jesus, because in our hearts, he says no cigaretting."  It's funny to me how she puts things together.

One of my favorite moments from this week was the following exchange:
Me: How'd you get so sweet?
Evie: 'Cause I been around you a bunch.

She makes me tear up every day.
