Evie's been enjoying her legos!
Thanksgiving Day we had a morning full of preparation since my parents were hosting my mom's side of the family, so Mom and I were making food while Seth and Dad entertained Evie. She must have learned that Thanksgiving is all about football.
Then Dad and I went to the service at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal as has been our tradition for the last several years. We met up with Mom and Seth at our church, Grace Presbyterian, where we were joining the rest of the Krech side of the family for lunch. Evie was acting kind of fussy and uneasy and didn't seem interested in eating anything. I thought she just needed a nap, but not too much later she got sick. That was the first time she actually threw up, not just spit up. Poor thing, she got it all over the floor of the nursery and all over her shirt and boots. And poor Granna was the one watching her in the nursery all alone when it happened (sorry, Granna!). I've never needed a change of clothes for Evie since she turned about 3 months old, so I don't keep one in her diaper bag. Seth had to go to the store and buy her a new shirt to wear home - the only reason I guess I'm glad some stores are open on Thanksgiving. But, Evie clearly felt so much better once that was over and stayed well for the rest of the trip. While we were waiting for Seth to come back with a new shirt, Evie got to hang out topless in the nursery. Tia (my cousin Olivia) kept her entertained and dressed her up in a lovely zebra print scarf.
Once clothed again, we headed to Kathy's house for dessert and hung out with Tia's enormous lab puppy, Boston. Evie was intrigued by Boston, like she was last time, but not entirely comfortable with her just yet. That changed on Saturday. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We went back to my parents' house so Evie could nap and then my Mom's side of the family came over for dinner. We had 4 adorable little girls, my cousin Lydia (4), my cousin's girls Nyla (3) and Naomi (2), and Evie. They had a good time playing together and checking out our dogs from the safety of the glass door.

Friday, we had a pretty chill day. We got Evie's bangs cut and then that night my friends from high school met up with us and we went to dinner. We came back, put Evie to bed, and then headed out to see a movie, extremely grateful for the free babysitting! Thanks, Granna!
Saturday we went over to Kathy's house for brunch. Evie really warmed up to Boston while we were there and was even comfortable enough with her to walk around next to her. At one point, Boston was so confident in their friendship that she brought Evie her bone so they could share. That kind of freaked Evie out, but she got over it.
Then Saturday night we went to my cousin Daniel's house and got to play some more with Nyla and Naomi and the rest of my Mom's side of the family.
Here are those three cuties on the stairs.
Sunday was the first day of Advent and Evie clearly loved the music during worship. At the end of the prelude, she clapped and said, "Yay!" and did the same at the end of "O Come O Come Emmanuel". After the service we went back to my parents' house for lunch and then headed back to Nashville.
The rest of the week has been fairly uneventful where Evie's concerned. I'm afraid she may be getting another ear infection (shock and surprise...), but she should still be a go for her ear tubes surgery Monday.
