Evie's 48th Week

We've spent the last few days talking with Gram and visiting Grampa (Seth's Dad), as well as taking in the local sights.  Evie is having some trouble adjusting to sleeping in her pack-n-play (I don't blame her, it's not exactly a cushy bed), but hopefully she'll get used to it soon.  During the day, we're trying to find things to entertain her.  We went to the fish ladder yesterday, where Evie saw fish even bigger than her.

Here she is, post-ladder, showing off her big eyes.

Today, we went to the beach, which was Evie's first time to see the beach and the ocean.  It was one of those moments that I've thought about for a long time, not necessarily with Evie specifically, but with my husband and my child.  You know, those moments you think of when you imagine all the fun things you'd like to do with your kids, when you have them.  That's what today was.  And we really needed that kind of moment.  Evie was fascinated with the sound of the waves, the shells, the sand.  We didn't set her down on the sand because we didn't have a towel with us.  We figured it would be too rocky, but we found a nice stretch of beach, so I do kind of wish we'd brought her swimsuit and towel.  But, since we are going to California next week, we'll let her experience sand there.

She was a big fan!
