We had a pretty eventful week. On Thursday, she also joined the ranks of the bespectacled. She said, oh wow, I can see so much better!
She had just come from ballet.
I love that she looks at me so much during this video. We've reached a stage of parenting where sometimes she seems completely "over" me, but when she looks at me during moments like this, it melts my heart.

It's amazing how much they learned in one week!
Saturday morning, we left to go to Kodak, TN, a little town outside of Sevierville and a halfway meeting place between us and Annalisa and Mary. We rented an adorable AirB&B that was next door to a farm (an unexpected perk). We spent the weekend together and came home yesterday.

They had doggies!
And bunnies!
We went to the Crime Museum, which was right up Evie's alley as she's discovered a shared interest with Annalisa's knowledge of true crime/serial killers. We explored some of Pigeon Forge's shopping and restaurants, and had plenty of much needed downtime and time together with besties.
We drove to the dam where there was a swimming hole that Evie enjoyed. It reminded me that in 2020, on our road trip while we were in Minnesota, Evie badly wanted to go swimming in the lake that was swamped by people. She was so disappointed that we couldn't let her do that because it looked like COVID breeding ground to us. I remember my Dad saying maybe she could do it some year in the future, and hopefully she'd still want to. We got to make it up to her this year.

We went back to the swimming hole yesterday morning (July 4) for a proper swim and she had the whole place to herself.
A much needed getaway with some of our favorite people!
