St. Louis

We had a fun time this weekend taking a short trip to St. Louis.  We originally booked the trip in order to see the band, The Church, in concert, but unfortunately the concert was a let down.  However, we had a really great time otherwise.

Friday before we left, we discovered that my car, which I bought on a trip to Memphis when we still lived in Nashville, was not road trip ready.  We had already planned to take Matt's car, but I decided we might as well go car shopping that morning and we ended up with a new car that was road trip worthy.  I went to pick Evie up from school in the new car and she said, "Oh, did you rent a car for the trip?"  I said, "Nope, this is ours!"  Her face was priceless.  She loves that we have a sunroof now.

Bye bye, old car, acquired in 2013

Hello new Hybrid CRV!

Matt met us at our house and we threw our bags together and got on the road.  We were expecting tornados and thunderstorms in the area, but the rain waited until we got to Sikeston for throwed rolls at Lambert's Cafe.

After dinner we finished driving in to our Air B&B which was in The Hill neighborhood.  It was recently renovated and had a lot of nice features, but unfortunately during our stay we encountered a lot of critters and I wouldn't stay there again.  But we didn't spend a lot of time there anyway.  Saturday we got brunch and then went to Union Station where we saw the aquarium, a petting zoo, and a mirror maze.  We went to Build-a-Bear where Evie put together a new stuffie (a Clydesdale), and then met Megan and Rachel for dinner before our concert.

We went to the concert but left early because it wasn't what we'd hoped for (their old hits), and instead we got some ice cream.

The next morning we went back to Union Station because we had tickets to do their ropes course, but due to their poorly explained ticketing policy, we missed our time and couldn't go at the next time they tried to give us, so we opted for mini-golf instead.

We headed to the escape room we'd booked that afternoon (which was Wizard of Oz themed) and escaped!  Then we headed back to Memphis.

It was a quick trip, but a fun one!
